Business Games
If you know me, you know I love a good game. As you’ve seen before on my blog I have played many games and I love sharing with all of you!
Having a child myself I find it so important to find games that are educational but also relate to the real world. Especially when it comes to finance, saving money, paying for items and buying a house, going to a supermarket and all those things that they will do when they are older that is going to help them.
I came across a game section on Mortgage Calculator and I think it is absolutely fantastic! They have such a variety of games including money games, where you pay for an item and have to workout how much change to give back with notes and coins, working in a supermarket, you put through the prices of the items they would like to buy and then total it up they pay and then you work out how much change to give them. They also have a section for real estate games buying and selling properties! That was a job that I absolutely loved when I did my work experience, there is a real estate tycoon too! Not only that they also offer games where you can run your own business such as a restaurant, a farm or coffee shop! All things that were all do in real life.
Looking through all the games they have to offer I think this website is amazing for children! They even have games on recycling which we all know that it’s so important to learn about especially with the climate the way that it is.
I thought I’d share with you a few of my favourite games handpicked from the website, my daughter is still a little bit young to play games like this but I will definitely be bookmarking it so that she can play some when she’s older!
The Grocery Cashier Game In my opinion is one of the best games on the website, it allows a child to add, subtract and total up products and also use money to pay and give change back. It is a level game so will get harder the more you play it but it’s very educational for children and of course it’s relevant to real life situations.
Another favourite game of mine is the Chocolate Shop. I mean I absolutely love chocolate, who doesn’t? With this game it’s not so relevant to real life but if you was to work in a restaurant or anything in the hospitality sector then it is very similar, with this game you need to bring a menu to a customer and then they choose what they would like to eat/buy, once they’ve told you what they would like to buy you go off and make it and then they give you money, and like any business more money means more upgrades to the company. This is a general all round fun game!
I just wanted to add this game in as I especially think it’s important to teach children recycling and the importance of doing so. Sort the Trash allows you to move the recycling bin across the screen to collect items that belong in the recycling bin, anything that does not belong in the recycling bin and you collect it could ultimately end the game, but it is a very good learning game about recycling, they also have a Wind and Solar game which allows you to add wind turbines and solar panels to maximise energy production in a green way.
I absolutely love this website and like I’ve said before I will definitely be bookmarking the website ready for my daughter when she is a little bit older!
as always
