Career Paths – Culinary Arts

Recently I have been looking at different careers and what each career has to offer, being 27 with two children it’s now time to think about myself and where I want to start heading when both my children are at of school age.  One job I did come across is that of culinary arts. Being a chef is one job I had not considered but I came across this website and it offers some amazing features. I have come to realise that actually your career journey is all dependant on where you go to study, whether that’s college, a career school (cooking, dance etc). This website offers a real insight on where your nearest culinary school is, majors, where you can train, different degree types, information such as salaries, different careers within culinary arts, job market and famous chefs.

Furthermore it has a section where you, yourself can play some games with your children. My daughter is almost 5 and has mentioned about being a chef beforehand because that’s what her Auntie does, she finds it so interesting and always wants to make different foods.

Looking into the kids game section there are hundreds of different games they have to offer, from farming, cooking, restaurant business and even the hospitality side of things. This is perfect for a child my age as everyday they learn through play which is extremely important, if they enjoy playing a game and it’s educational I love it! They’re fun for all the family too not just children, I quite often get involved with games with my daughter as being a mum to two I have to divide my attention between them both.

One game my daughter absolutely loved was Pancake pileup, she loves stacking things and could easily play this game for hours if I let her. You have to try and build the biggest tower of pancakes before it tips over, also pancakes are my daughter’s absolute favourite food. Anytime we go out for breakfast you can bet she asks for pancakes. We have so much fun incorporating counting within the game as that’s what they’re learning to do at school too so ties everything in nicely and makes it that little bit more educational.

Our highest score was 14, I would love to know if you have tried playing this game before and what your high-score is!

Another game that my daughter thoroughly enjoyed was  Ice-Cream bar. Which child doesn’t love ice cream? It keeps your children engaged that’s for sure! What I love about this game is that not only are you timed so have to do it relatively quickly so your children really need to concentrate but with every level you complete you unlock another part to the game, so everytime we’d complete a level my daughter would get excited to what was going to unlock next. (We had to play until we had unlocked the pink ice cream. We have played a few different games on this website and it is incredibly my daughter said she felt like an actual ‘cooker’, it kept her engaged and she was learning as she was playing these games.

It’s perfect for 5/10 mins where you want them to learn but also have fun to break up the day and spend some time with little ones. We often go back and forth to the website a few times a week just to keep her brain challenged and we try to play different games everytime so she has a variety as if we were to play the same game everytime she would get extremely bored. Which is why I love it has hundreds of games to try. If you have a look into this website please do let me know what your favourite game is as we’d love to try it if it isn’t one we have already tried!

As always

With Love, Tiff x
