Pregnancy Diary

Our Big Announcement!

The 28th of May was the last time I wrote my own content and posted it.

I have tried drafting this post a thousand times in my head, on paper, and on the computer. To be honest it seemed a lot easier than what it is.

I never thought that so soon I would be announcing on my blog this absolutely amazing news!

5 weeks ago Me and Jamie revealed to social media that I was in fact 12 weeks pregnant.

I have had the most wonderful pregnancy and I am loving it! No sickness, no cravings and not gone off any food! (BONUS) I still do not feel as if I have got my head around it and it feels so surreal still!

It has honestly been the best thing and I feel so so lucky!

When we got to the 12-week scan and we knew everything was okay and the baby was happy and healthy. My lovely mum offered to pay for an early gender scan.

Once returning to work everyone was saying how they thought I was having a little boy. I really was not worried as any gender would be a blessing! Most of my family apart from my Nan had also said a boy and I had two friends who said, girl.

To begin with, me and Jamie were not sure if we wanted to find out the gender but then both agreed that is what we wanted to do. So my mum booked it.

So my appointment for the gender scan was 1st August at 6.45pm. So I decided during the day whilst Jamie was at work I would go shopping for some maternity clothes to keep my mind off of it.

As it got closer and closer to the time I started to sweat. For no reason, at all, I was just nervous to find out if we were having a little boy or a little girl.

We turned up to the scan and had to wait around 15 minutes. Once I got into the room I got so so nervous. The lady went for the ‘potty shot’ straight away and at that point, we all looked at the screen (me, Jamie, my mum, and stepdad) and instantly knew what I was having.

However baby was not co-operating at all for profile photos so I was sent for a wee and a walk to try and wake the baby up and get the baby moving. Was the baby having it? Absolutely not. We came back and the baby was back to front and upside down. The baby was not co-operating in the slightest but the sonographer said to us that they know what gender the baby is they just can’t get any profile photos. So she began to ask if we would like to find out in the room. Another lady came in and she said she was happy with what they had seen and know what it is.

They popped a little pair of socks into a bag and passed it to Jamie for him to tell us whether it was a boy or a girl.

And to our absolute surprise, we are having a little girl!

Emotions ran high and I was just so shocked. The sonographer tried to get some more photos and sent me out for another walk and here she was on her head this time! So again I was sent on one last walk and finally, she began to co-operate.

All along me and Jamie were both convinced we were having a little boy and we are so over the moon and just can’t wait to meet her now.

I am now 17+2 and it is all going so fast! I can’t wait to share my journey with you all and keep you updated!

I have two new posts coming very soon so keep an eye out!
