Plays.org Review
Online gaming has become a multi-million-pound business in recent years, and still increasingly rising with around £50 for a new video game. It has also been said that online gaming helps suppress negative thoughts and helps with people’s mental health, which has also been on the rise especially in what has been the most unprecedented times recently. I for one think that mental health is so important and anything to try and push thoughts aside is a win in my eyes. Obviously, it’s not as easy as playing an online game but if it helps just one person then it’s serving a purpose.
Plays.org is a website with many different games, you don’t have to pay and you get the full-length games, which is amazing, I have never come across a website quite like this one I quite often like to take an hour or so out of my evening just to relax and play a few games to unwind from a busy day once my daughter is in bed. I find that just taking half an hour to an hour playing some games reduces my stress levels and just completely distracts me from everything, which everyone needs sometimes.
I have now played over 10 games on Plays.org and one thing that has really stood out to me is the fact that there are absolutely 0 ads, most websites now have ads to try and gain some kind of revenue and it’s clear to see that this is just not their goal. There is no demos on this website and just genuine free play games.
One of my favourite games on this website has to be PAC-RAT, I’m sure you can guess what game it is inspired by.
Pac Rat is a free Pac Man inspired game where you play as a rat eating cheese.
The power up pellets give you great strength to eat the cats like Pac Man eats ghosts.
This game is far easier than PacMan as there are only 6 levels, 3 enemies,, and the enemies move slowly.
I could spend hours and hours playing this game, the same as if I would when I was younger. Games have obviously been developed over the years, better graphics, more add-ons etc but I love to just sit on my phone, iPad or computer and just play the old school games that take me back to my childhood, without downloading apps that clog up every single one of my devices.
Plays.org is continually updating its website with new games daily, so it can enable games that suit everyone.
Another one of my favourite games to play on their website is Classic Mine Sweeper.
This is a version of minesweeper offering 3 difficulty levels and a beautiful aesthetic design. Easy is an 81 square grid with 20 mines, medium is a 120 grid with 40 mines and hard is a 168 grid with 80 mines.
I’ve spent ages getting through the levels Which again is another retro-style game that I loved playing on the desktop when I was younger. These games are the kind of games that just never get old and I absolutely love playing them. I can’t say I’m very good at playing them though, mind you. As you can probably guess I always play on easy, I’d love to eventually go into medium and hard but we’re just taking one step at a time.
I love having a look at the ‘New Games’ tab as I’m always on the lookout for new games to play as sometimes you do get bored playing the same game over and over again without having a different game to play too. There are hundreds of games on the website along with lots of different categories at the bottom of the page in the game catalogue including, arcade, dress up and pinball. Perfect for all ages and anyone in the family.
This is honestly one of the most amazing websites I have come across and will continue to use it in the evenings or if I ever need a quick break and I will be checking the new game tab to see what other games they have to offer in the near future. I am addicted and now off to try ‘Neon Invaders’.
