Mind Games

I absolutely love playing games and I always will, I’m a big kid at heart.

I am always downloading new games to try and most recently I’ve been looking more for ‘mind’ games. Something that will keep me busy but also makes me think. One of my favourite games recently is Solitaire, I used to play it a lot when I was younger on the old window XP computers, what a long time ago that was!

I came across a website that has lots of different types of solitaire, which is amazing. They don’t only have Solitaire though, it’s a broad website with a vast amount of other mind games, something to keep your mind occupied whilst you have 5 minutes to yourself.

I particularly like playing these types of games when I sit down for a break from cleaning in the daytime. As I find if I keep my mind busy I am more likely to actually go back to cleaning, rather than just sitting down for the rest of the day.

My favourite is just the standard solitaire I love games that are completely stripped back and old school as it was also nostalgic. Although these games can occupy you for 5 minutes, I must warn you that they can be extremely addictive, I find myself so deep into a game and I am a very sore loser so I like to win, which if you’re a solitaire player know that, that is not always possible.

For anyone that doesn’t know how to play solitaire, you get random cards dealt with you, with a deck of cards at the top which you can shuffle through to try and a make alternate colours of a King, Queen, Jack, 10, 9 etc. The aim is to have the whole deck in order to win the game.

I have been searching on their website and they have over 5 different types of solitaire which are amazing, all have a slight difference to try and keep the game interesting.

Another favourite of mine is hidden object games, I quite often used to sit down in the evening and me and my mum would play them together, we could sit there for hours following the storyline and finding the objects which of course at times felt completely impossible when you’ve run out of hints. On Solitaire.org the levels are timed so you have to be quick and I work better under pressure so this is the perfect game for me.

They also offer other games such as mahjong, other card games, match three and of course one of my other favourites Sudoku.  They have a lot of classic games that you would have sat and played when you were younger and when you got home from school.

Games have and will always be a huge part of my life, for a lot of people gaming is an complete shut off from reality when you just need to dive into something different but also that’s going to occupy your mind for a while. Especially for those who are struggling at the moment, as I have mentioned in previous posts that gaming actually helps mental health.

I absolutely love coming into this website during the day or even in the evening just to try and challenge and enjoy myself for a little while.
