5 Questions To Ask Before Buying A Pair Of Sunglasses

Sunglasses are sunglasses, right? As long as they look good, you don’t really need to worry about anything else. Except, that’s not actually the case and there is a big difference between a cheap pair of sunglasses and a good quality one. You need sunglasses to protect your eyes and a lot of the cheap ones won’t do that. They’ll also break easily, so you need to do your research before you buy. These are some of the main questions you need to ask before buying a pair of sunglasses.

Is The Supplier Reliable?

If you put sunglasses into Google, you’ll get thousands of results, but most of them won’t be very good quality. You need to make sure that you’re buying from a reliable supplier but it can be difficult to know. The first thing you should do is check out the contact us page on their site and see what details are on there. If they don’t list an address or a phone number, that’s not a great sign. You should also check out some reviews of the site online and see whether they are positive or not.

Are They Big Enough?

Size does matter when it comes to sunglasses because you need to make sure that you have enough coverage. This is especially important if you wear false eyelashes on a regular basis because a small pair of glasses might be uncomfortable. However, oversized glasses can be tough to pull off, so make sure that you find a good balance.

What Percentage Of UV Rays Do They Block?

The main reason that you need sunglasses is to block UV rays and stop them from damaging your eyes. You might think that all sunglasses block UV rays but that’s not the case. In fact, only the top end glasses will block 100% of UV rays, so make sure that you check before you buy. Anything less than 100% and your eyes are still at risk of getting damaged, so they’re not really worth wearing.

Are They Polarized?

Polarized sunglasses help to block glare so you are comfortable even in the brightest sun. But, again, a lot of the sunglasses that you find for sale won’t be polarized so even though they might offer some protection, you will still have the sun in your eyes all day. People tend to think that darker lenses offer more protection from the sun but that’s not the case, it’s the polarization that makes the difference, so double check whether they are polarized or not before you buy any sunglasses.

Do They Match Your Wardrobe?

Even though practicality is important, sunglasses are still an accessory like any other and they need to match the rest of your wardrobe. If you are going for something bold and colorful, think about whether the colors and patterns match with the rest of the outfits that you will be wearing during the summer.

As long as you ask all of these questions before you buy a pair of sunglasses, you can make sure that you get the perfect pair.
